In 2012, director Emmanuel Brotto and mucician/composer Laurent Pernice travelled to Vanuatu to record and film Peirua, a string band (a very popular style of music in Melanesia). That's how they met Roy Sela and John Sande, the group's composers, in Wunavaï, on the west coast of the island of Santo, in an isolated area a day's sail from the nearest town, Luganville. There's no water or electricity there, but awesome, invigorating music...
